Drawing Mixed Media through Weston Youth Services/WOW (Grades K - 2) Drawing classes teach children to draw what they see, to enhance their drawings with their own ideas and concepts, and to use different materials in creative ways. The class environment is non-competitive, creative, and fun. This program helps students build their self-esteem through their drawing success and enhances hand eye coordination as well as spatial and color relationships. Special holidays and events are considered for project ideas. Multicultural arts and techniques are taught; educating students in history, geography, and storytelling as well. Drawing projects may include collage, mask making, still life, animals, scenery, people, portrait, or architecture. Students may take multiple sessions from year to year and will not repeat projects. Note: If your child cannot attend the Friday program, we also offer a Monday class!

Agata Tria is an accomplished and award-winning artist, exhibiting her soft pastel drawings in the United States and Europe. Her style is mostly minimalistic nature portraits emphasizing color and composition. She loves to create in all kinds of mediums and earned her Master’s degree from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw, Poland. Agata arrived in the US in 2000 and while learning English worked as a senior Graphic Designer. Agata loves teaching art and cartooning and we’re thrilled to have Agata as one of our WOW! instructors.
